The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance  Motorcycle Run (MCR) on Sunday 6^th September, 2026, will be finishing at Kings Farm in Writtle

The first motorbikes will likely leave North Weald at around 9.30/10.00am, and we’d expect a window of up to around two hours (with gaps) should see all the motorbikes complete the route and arrive at Kings Farm, Writtle, for the Whirlybirds Family Fun Day (10am to 4pm).

️ About the Ride
This year’s motorcycle run will feature a 24-mile route, designed to make the event more accessible, enjoyable, and community-focused, while still bringing bikers together in support of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.

The shorter route allows us to continue operating this event and has plenty of opportunities for the wider community to get involved, cheer on the riders and support the event throughout the day.

And of course, this is a ride, not a race, where the destination is just as important as the journey. It’s all about coming together, enjoying the experience, and showing support for our life-saving service.

Every mile ridden helps to raise awareness and vital funds to keep our helicopters flying and our critical care teams responding, when every second counts.

  What is the Whirlybirds Family Fun Day?

Whirlybirds Family Fun Day is a celebration of community, bringing together supporters, families, riders, and local businesses for a day packed with entertainment, activities, and fundraising in support of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.

This year we’re thrilled to have:

On the Edge Motorcycle Stunt Show performances
A kids disco and magic shows with Skittleman
Live music from Lord Toffingham and Quo Connection

Fairground rides, inflatables and games stalls
Plus even more entertainment and activities to be announced!

From food and stalls to children’s entertainment and live performances, there’ll be something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.
