Ride London Essex
On Sunday 26 May, Essex will once again welcome
thousands of people taking part in Ford RideLondon-Essex, the world’s greatest festival of
cycling.
Millions of pounds will be raised for charity by those taking part in the challenge ride, which
is nicknamed the London Marathon on wheels because of the huge fundraising it generates.
The ride will start and finish in central London and in between be held on a route in Essex
that is largely similar to the one used in 2023, passing Epping, North Weald, Ongar, Fyfield,
Leaden Roding, Great Dunmow, Felsted, Great Waltham, the Melbourne Park area of
Chelmsford, and Writtle.
This month (March), all addresses on or near the route will receive a leaflet from the Ford
RideLondon-Essex organisers which will contain the key information about the event
including local road closure times, maps and contact information.
Residents are urged to look out for this delivery by Royal Mail and to use the information to
plan ahead for event day. The information will also be on the Ford RideLondon-Essex
website at ridelondon.co.uk/community-info.
