Tumble Tots, are a progressive play programme for 6 months to school aged children. They are starting up in Writtle at the Writtle Christian Centre. They help to get little ones active and develop balance, climbing, agility and co-ordination skills while also supporting school readiness. To help increase awareness and allow families to try a session without commuting to an annual membership they are running some limited summer sessions.
Little Stars Circus have once again wowed the residents of Writtle with their summer celebration of learning on Writtle Green. The Parish Council were delighted to host the event in June. We look forward to welcoming them back for next years celebration on 19th June.
The Parish Council have been made aware that one of the wild goslings on Wear pond has damaged wings. We have contacted a professional organisation who have advised it is a congenital defect and the goose will not be able to fly. The geese are wild birds and they migrate. The parents often return to the same breeding grounds each year and they will chase off any remaining offspring, as they did this year. On this basis, the gosling with the defective wings has now gone to a lovely private rural home in Essex where they will be very well looked after.

Writtle Parish Council had the pleasure of visiting Chelmsford City Council’s CCTV Control Centre on 13 May. The parish council has recently invested in upgrading the cameras at Paradise Road and this was a great opportunity to see them in action.
The visit was extremely informative and the council was able to see the cameras and monitoring systems in operation, and to gain a better understanding of the important work undertaken by the team in helping to maintain community safety and support local policing.
